We’ve wrapped up a fantastic 2025 at Yuki Judo, with so many great events and highlights — including the Nationals in Adelaide, 4 local competitions plus 2 Senshi comps, judo classes for blind and vision-impaired kids during Term 3, our 6th birthday celebration with around 70 people, and so many wonderful cards and end-of-year presents.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey.
We’re really looking forward to a great 2026!

All classes finished for 2024.
We’ve had a very busy year with many gradings, comps and hosting the AKJA Judo Nationals here in Melbourne.
Thank you so much to all the almost 40 students that trained with us every week and a big shout-out for the parents as well!
We wish you all a great holiday season and a successful 2025!
See you next year!
After years of promise, Sensei Clau finally recorded the video showing how to tie your belt! 🥋😃
You can see there 2 ways of wrapping your belt around and 2 types of knots
Hope you can practice at home!
See you on the mat!
Yesterday we finished Term 2 kids classes with our youngest Judoka ever to join the Saturday Little Kids class, with 2 Years and 2 months old! She did great!
Adult classes run all year round (except for Pub Holidays). During school holidays, if you are coming to the Wednesday adult class, please contact us beforehand to make sure we are there!

Great photo at the end of last Sunday’s VAJU Tournament.
You can see our five Yuki Judo competitors and a friend from Tori Judo along with Sensei Clau, who also competed after 3 years ![]()
All students demonstrated a great courage and attitude, attacking and resisting their opponent’s attacks with great determination.
Congratulations to all of them!

Last Saturday, Yuki Judo celebrated its 3rd anniversary with a sausage sizzle for all students and their families.
A big thank you to all the ones that came to the event, and the ones that couldn’t make it, for being part of our Yuki Judo Family!
It’s been quite a journey since our early beginnings, with COVID hitting in the middle (and still around) and many comps, events and great experiences along the way.
I’m happy to see that Yuki currently has more than 30 students ranging from 3 to 45+ years old who enjoy learning our loved martial art. Thanks again for your support and see you on the mat!

This past weekend, our Sensei has participated in an 3-day Summer Judo Seminar, held at Zenyo Judo in Abbotsford, from Friday to Sunday.
It was a great and intense seminar and the perfect opportunity to improve our Judo, especially after the last 2 year’s lockdowns and interruptions.
We trained tachi waza (standing techniques) and randori (practice fights) in the mornings, and ne waza (techniques on the ground) and kata (formal pre-established set of techniques) in the afternoons.
Thank you, Zenyo Judo, for organising it!
It was a great start of the year and an awesome preparation for Yuki Judo’s kick start on Monday 31st January.
See you on the mat!
