We’ve had a very busy year with many gradings, comps and hosting the AKJA Judo Nationals here in Melbourne.
Thank you so much to all the almost 40 students that trained with us every week and a big shout-out for the parents as well!
We wish you all a great holiday season and a successful 2025!
See you next year!
After years of promise, Sensei Clau finally recorded the video showing how to tie your belt! 🥋😃
You can see there 2 ways of wrapping your belt around and 2 types of knots
Hope you can practice at home!

On Saturday 18 December we had the last class of the year. All in all, and in spite of COVID, we’ve had a great year with a lot of highlights:
For all that, a big thank you for your support during this difficult year.
Have a great festive season and all the best wishes for 2022!
See you on the mat after the break!
Congratulations to the Judokas from Yuki Judo who attended the VAJU Autumn Tournament yesterday.

It was a great event with around 25 participants across all categories!
Results and comments from yesterday:
Under 13
Congratulations to Eilidh for participating on her first tournament showing great attitude with some loses and wins, but taking valuable experience for the future.
Abi did a great job joining the comp at the last minute without having fully recovered from her finger luxation last week. Being one of the lighter participants in her category, she fought amazingly and demonstrated great Judo skills.
Both competitors had five exhausting fights with many experienced Judokas and demonstrated they have what it takes to be great Judokas!
Under 15
Great tournament for Bonnie, participating in a very though category with many experienced Judokas. After four intense fights, she received the bronze medal in her category!
All in all, a highly successful tournament. We had fun, we learn a lot and we are ready to keep training for the next one in June!
Yesterday we had the last kids class for the term.
Kids classes resume on Monday 19th April at 5pm.
Adult classes continue running uninterrupted on Mon & Wed 6pm. Come and have a free trial class!
If you have any questions don’t hessitate to contact us!
See you on the mat!
A few weeks after we suspended the classes due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I started recording free video classes for the young judokas in our kids class and they are available for any other kid that wants to give it a go.
Please, don’t expect perfect ‘Instagram’ quality videos, this is more about Judo. The classes are recorded so they can be followed standing in front of a TV, laptop or mobile phone with minimal space required to do the exercises.
I’m uploading a new class every approximately 2 weeks and there is a section where they can pick the individual exercises in case they want to work in something in particular.
Please stay safe in this difficult times and I hope we all can go back to our Dojos soon.
In the meantime, see you on the (virtual) mat!

I just wanted to share with you, surely the best judo gift I’ve ever received: a custom made book written by Eilidh and with illustrations by Abi, two Judokas from Yuki Judo’s Kids class.
It’s about a kata training at Yuki Judo that they came to see back in October.
I could not have thought of a better gift to finalise this first year of Yuki Judo Dojo.
Have a great festive season. Classes resume on Wed 29 January 2020.
See you on the mat!
